Do You Remember

New outfit post!! The other day I went to a benefit and I sang. At the benefit were a bunch of very fashionable vendors from local boutiques and auctions with some really nice jewelry. I am so glad I won this beautiful necklace!

Remember this?Well, I successfully wore the dress to my school's homecoming dance this year. The dress was comfortable and everyone loved it. Thank you to http://www.lulus.com/ for such a beautiful little black dress!

I've fallen in love with ban.do. Literally, madly in love. We all know where my holiday money is going...

New Soul

A 5 0'clock wake up time for a last minute physics cram session has left me just enough time to write a quick post before I begin getting ready for the day!

The flapper costume fell through. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to put one together. Instead, I was a hippie. A rather boring costume, but the easiest. All I had to do was open my closet!

Halloween day I was finally able to get my hair done!!

It's sad that Halloweenie is over :( Candy, pumpkins, candy corn...I'm going to miss it.
What did y'all do for Halloween??

Have a great week everyone!

Lucky

Yes, this post title is inspired by the over-played, but brilliant, Jason Mraz song...but I just felt it suitable considering how great life has been. I have been Taste of Fashion MIA for a long time, but I am back and better than ever :) This school year has been grand. Everything about is good. I'm challenged, but not overloaded with work. I am constantly surrounded by friends and family. I am immersed daily with fashion and the arts. ...and gelatto, warm apple cider, candy corn, and pumpkin flavored foods are part of my daily diet. With October may come the despised cold weather, but it has to be one of the most fun months of the year. I have gone to a Halloween decorated theme park, apple picking, fall football games, and soon to be Halloween shopping.

This brings me to a, much needed, blogger friend favor. I need YOU, yes YOU to help me out with my Halloween costume. I'm going to be a 20's flapper...but need ideas and advice! So post a helpful comment or send me an e-mail with pictures of ideas. Your advice is greatly appreciated :) I wish I could say the best advice will win you a prize...but that's not true...you will be my new blogger best friend!! (who wouldn't want that!)
Scarves have generally been October's accesory staple. I went into Target this evening on the hunt for moccasins, but came out with brown boots, black flats, and a yellow scarf! Gotta love the scarfs.
green v-neck from american eagle, faux leather shorts lulus.com, bag from alternate apparale, necklace from claires

I give each and every one of you full permission to scold me on my lack of posting... those leather shorts I bought in the summer I had yet to post a picture of. Well, there you go!

Monique Lhuillier...perfection. Everything about the show was lovely.
Have a wonderful Autumn filled week everyone. It's good to be back.

Quando Quando Quando

School has started. I have dreaded the beginning of the school year since the first day of summer vacation. Now that it is here, I am realizing that school is not that bad. I will be the first person to say I hate school, but I can totally get through this year. Although it will be a difficult year, I am positive this will be a brilliant year...even though I am currently writing a boring essay.skirt from Macy's, racerback tank from Forever 21, earings from an art festival, vintage belt.

Not having a camera is really sucky :(

When blondes wear blue in a sophisticated style, it looks fantastic.

Have a great week everyone!

I Will Possess Your Heart

School starts in two days. GASP. Yes, two days. The end of summer is always so sad. Suprisingly, I'm not too sad this year. I'm actually quite indifferent. Sure, this summer was fun but nothing too exciting happened. I enjoyed myself, but most of my time was spent working and relaxing. It was a good summer :)

I already have my first day of school outfit planned out. This picture isn't the best because, since I don't have a camera, it was taken on my phone.

dress from american eagle, lace nighty (underneath) from aerie, belt from lucky brand jeans.

Is it a good first day of school outfit?? I like it. Originally, I was just going to wear the lace nighty, but I think this is more appropriate.

Have a great week everyone :)

A Drop In The Ocean

I just realized that I can take pretty good photos on my phone. HOPEFULLY I will have an outfit post soon! Certainly there will be one for the first day of school. I already have my outfit planned out. I recently made an order on www.lulus.com. Here's what I bought.

Chelsea Girl Vegan Leather Shorts.

Alternative Apparal Madonna Slouch Pocket Tee in Grey.

Alternative Apparal Madonna Slouch Pocket Tee in Navy.

Airline to Heaven Dress.
Dress detail below.

Lulus is such a great site. I found so many things I wanted. I had a wishlist about a mile long, but one can only buy so much :( I'm happy with the staples I bought. As you can see, I adore Alternative Apparal. Hence, the green bag I cart around every day.

Have a great week!

Carry Me Home

Unfortunately, tragedy has struck my household. A family member has passed away from cancer. Therefore; my family will be taking an unwanted vacation to the funeral. I will also be missing the Blink concert :(

But life must go on.

Looklet is soooo much fun. It's so nice to be able to see clothing on a model. It's better than polyvore!!! This is my mood of late.

Having no camera is so sad. I have worn so many outfits I've wanted to show you all, but can't because I have no way of documenting them!went shopping yesterday. I've loaded up on the same laid back, casual, pants in shades of green, tan, grey, khacki...they are so comfortable. I also bought a long tye dye peasant skirt, a plaid shirt/dress, purple tights, grey tights, an orange embroidered tank dress, a flowery lace lingerie inspired dress, headbands, and a suede fringed vest. It was a successful trip.

Have a great week everyone. Summer is almost over, go outside! Enjoy what is left of this lovely season :)

Maybe

The Ingrid Michaelson concert was amazing to say the least. Can it be possible that a singer sounds better live than on record?? Not only does Ingrid have an engaging stage presence, but a crystal clear, spot on, beautiful voice. Her backup singer/guitar player was extremely talented as well. My friend and I thouroughly enjoyed the concert. We were thrilled when we received autographs and hugs from Ingrid after the show. My favorite song from the set was "Maybe" from her new album. Check it out!!

I wore: black dress from Forever 21, shoes from Forever 21, necklace from a fair, bangles from boutique in Florida, bag from Alternative Apparel.

Last week I was lucky enough to go to two concerts! Towards the end of the week I went to a Cute Is What We Aim For Concert. Although my expectations for the show weren't very high, Cute Is What We Aim For played an awesome show. AND raised a ton of money for a local theatre's restorations. Shant, the lead singer, has a suprisingly good voice...and enduring stamina. His acoustic performance of Lyrical Lies was really quite lovely. But my ultimate favorite of the night was an energetic performance of Hollywood. PERFECT.

I wore: shoes from American Eagle, leggings from Hot Topic, grey dress from Forever 21, black shirt from my auntie :) , necklace from a fair, bag from alternative apparal.

Less than a week left before the Blink-182 concert!!
Have a great day everyone :)

Breakable

WOOOHOOOOO! Yesterday was pretty much the best day of my summer. All weekend I had been calling in, faithfully, at every hour to a local radio station in hopes of winning passes to a private Ingrid Michaelson concert at a local restaurant. After losing at least eight times, I finally hit the jackpot :) I won! I was heard on the station blubbering and screaming. It was quite embarassing to listen to. I cannot contain my excitement though. My friend and I have been loyal fans of Ingrid Michaelson for a very long time and we adore her music. If you have been a faithful reader to my blog, you would know this considering the two videos I uploaded of my friend and I singing two of the songs she often performs, "The Chain," and "You and I." The concert is on Wednesday and I CANNOT WAIT. I'm sure there will be an outfit post for the night since I will remind my friend a million trillion times to bring her camera. Who would pass up a photo opportunity with Ingrid?!
thrifted shirt, pants from express, shoes from forever 21
This is an old outfit post...my camera is still broken :( My guess is that this was taken around spring. I wore this to a casual film premier I had a small role in.

Have a lovely week everyone. I know I will :)

I Miss You

Thanks to Neil from Roweandesign I have been informed of a great online boutique called 25park. http://www.25park.com/ sells great peices of clothing from a vast selection of designers, including, Antik Batik, Behnaz Sarafpour, Malene Birger, Elizabeth and James, Gryphon, Karta, Michael Kors, Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti, Ports 1961, and Vena Cava, just to name a few. While browsing the website I came across must have pieces, that I would buy if I had the money, from Gryphon, beautiful Elizabeth and James pieces, and casual wear from Mike & Chris. There is a great selection of clothing for putting together the ultimate Summer outfit. I found many ethnic and cultural references in the clothing and lots of sequins!! (I'm glad sequins haven't gone out of style yet) AND! I found Your Slip Is Showing, which I will definitely be checking out. What a great idea it is! Buy a slip with a creative bottom that peeks out beneath a dress or skirt, instantly you have a new dress!

Not only is this a great site to shop from, it is charitable. 25Park supports the R Baby Foundation which helps in the fight against infant mortality. More information on the R Baby Foundation can be found at http://www.rbabyfoundation.org/

The VIP services on the site are helpful as well. Consult the 25 Park experts if searching for the perfect dress for your sister's wedding or a graduation party, they'll hook you up with some great ideas!!! The website recently just added a blog. The blog, which is nicely organized, keeps the reader up to date with the lastest news in fashion, music, travel, photography, and events. Make sure to check it out.

Really do check out this site. I know I sound like a broken record advertisement, but it really is a pretty cool on-line boutique. I went through the entire website and picked out my favorites to show my fellow bloggers!

batik dress from aka new york

tulip dress from elizabeth and james

knights bridge dress from karta

full skirt from loefflerr randall

So check out the site! Moving off of 25 park; I'm really disappointed that my camera is broken. I really like my outfit today! I'm wearing black Cheap Monday skinny jeans, a pink tank, a navy and leather zip up vest over the top and a chain/diamond necklace. It has kind of a biker vibe. Oh! Red lipstick of course.

Have a great week everyone.

Beth

Lots of athletics this week have left me sore and sunburned :( I know this is no excuse, but I haven't really felt up to the challenge of dressing up. All I've worn the past two days is shorts/sweats/tees. BORING, I know. Luckily today will be my last day of field hockey camp!!!!!!! Quite the celebration.

My current music obsession is with the song Beth...

My camera is still broken and I have yet to buy a new one. Therefore, all of the pictures in my outfit posts are old, but ones that I haven't posted.
This outfit I wore to perform a solo at a school concert.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Go outside and enjoy the sunshine :)

Remember The Time

I recently returned from a wonderful trip with chorus to New Orleans, the "Big Easy." The trip, which I expected to be a bore, was a grand success. Not only did I enjoy trips to Bubba Gumps Shrimp Company Restaurant, the Insectatarium, the Bayou (wild alligators were an arm's length away), shopping at the French Market, walking along the beautiful antique streets, and beignets with cafe au lait for brekke, but friendships were created that will last a lifetime. In addition to all of these lovely things, I was granted the opportunity to sing in a beautiful cathedral (the oldest cathedral in the United States), in a concert directed by the prestigious Bob Chilcott of Britain. He was an inspiration. Fortunately the song my choir toured with was a song called, "No More Silence," in which I sing a soulful chesty solo that I adore. I was honored to be able to sing in front of Mr. Chilcott.
Some pictures from the trip.

And then...the camera broke :( It was very sad. I couldn't take any pictures for the rest of the entire trip AND I have no recent outfit photos. Luckily, I have many backups in store :)
Have a great week everyone!
